We receive a number of enquiries regarding “what fitness certification” students need.
At the Australian College of Sport & Fitness, there are three core fitness qualifications to be a professional trainer. They include the following:
- Fitness Instructor Certificate – Certificate III in Fitness
- Personal Trainer Certificate – Certificate IV in Fitness
Fitness Instructor Certification
Fitness Instructor Certification/Qualification is the Certificate III in Fitness. It allows you to be an exercise or fitness instructor in a fitness centre for individual or groups of clients.
Personal Trainer Certification
Personal Trainer Certification/Qualification is the Certificate IV in Fitness. It allows you to become a Personal Trainer and train clients on a one-to-one basis. You may work within an existing fitness centre or have your own business.
Dual Fitness Certification – achieve both fitness certifications at the same time
As a student, you can learn and achieve both fitness certifications at the same time. The Australian College of Sport & Fitness has programs where students can study both of these certifications back-to-back and in conjunction with each other.
